St. Luke Lutheran Church and St. Luke Preschool, Albuquerque, NM
Status:  Full time , with an initial period of several months to shadow current Director
Pay Range:  Salaried, in the range of $50,000--$70,000, TBD based on years of experience and education in the field of Early Childhood Education

Position Description:
St. Luke Preschool, a Five Star, nationally accredited Christian preschool that is a mission and a ministry of St. Luke Lutheran Church, is seeking a Director who will continue to enhance the warm and caring learning environment of its well established preschool community, proudly celebrating 70 years!  The Preschool Director leads a team of administrative and teaching staff and works alongside a governing committee and church leadership to carry out the operations of the school.  Strong communication and organizational skills are needed to work closely with families, teaching staff, and the St. Luke Lutheran Church leadership teams.
The director oversees the engagement of children in age appropriate learning activities and experiences based on NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) standards and the New Mexico Early Learning Guidelines by supporting the teaching staff, families, and children for the purpose of building, nurturing, and sustaining relationships within an all-inclusive Christian community.    
Required Qualifications:

  • Be a practicing Christian, professing faith in the triune God.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
  • Have an Administrative Certificate or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Have 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, with a background in teaching.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface well with all entities.
  • Work well as a member of a team.
  • Pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hold a master’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field.
  • Be knowledgeable and have experience with the ECECD state licensing and NAEYC accreditation processes.
