Location: 

Messiah Christian Preschool is located in the west wing of Messiah Lutheran Church at the corners of Hwys O & F in western Kenosha County, in Twin Lakes, WI.

Shift:  

Mornings, Part Time

This teacher would be responsible for providing learning to one class that meets MWF and one that meets TTh each morning, with the possibility of growing the position to full-time should an afternoon class need to be added based on preschool enrollment or the addition of extending learning opportunities.

Reports to:

Director of Messiah Christian Preschool

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency

  • Completion of 320 hours of experience as a assistant childcare teacher or other approved early childhood setting

  • Prior to assuming the position, two courses in early childhood education or its equivalent from an institution of higher education

• Experience:

  • Some preferred, but not required

• Certifications: (within six months of hire)

  • CPR

  • SIDS Training

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively to plan, organize, and carry out daily lessons

• Implement lessons which fulfill the prescribed curriculum

• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other preschool staff

• Attend and hold parent/teacher conferences

Skills:

• Knowledge of the developmental milestones for pre kindergarten students

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate learning activities for pre kindergarten students

• Knowledge of play-based learning techniques

• Effective and efficient time and task management skills including planning, managing and organizing

• Ability to work as a team member and collaborate effectively

• Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate social and emotional behavioral challenges that little learners may demonstrate and appropriate techniques for working with them

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Ability to run a creative, welcoming, and warm classroom environment

• Effective communication skills both receptive and expressive with little learners, as well as adults

• Ability to create a warm, welcoming, and nurturing classroom environment for preschool learners

• Ability to share a little of God’s love with preschool learners
