We at Elim Lutheran Church and Children’s Center of Marshalltown, IA, are seeking
our next Children’s Center Director. Our next director will help guide the ministry
of Elim by overseeing the ministry of the children’s center. The director
works closely with the pastor, the children’s center board, parents, staff, and
students. At Elim, we strive to provide a high-quality, affordable center for children
and families to grow.
The director is the face of the center for parents and staff. The director is
responsible for the facility's compliance with local, state, and federal child-care
laws. They oversee staff and ensure that all staff comply as well. The Director is
responsible for the overall financial management of the center. They also oversee
the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum throughout
the center.

foundation. The center offers children a combination of structured activities,
educational activities, and self-directed play to build a solid foundation in their
early childhood.

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Childcare Director at Elim Children's Center in
Marshalltown, IA. The Childcare Director will be responsible for overseeing the
daily operations of the center, managing staff, ensuring compliance with state
regulations, administering policies and procedures, and maintaining effective
communication with families.

Qualifications
• Childcare and Early Childhood Development knowledge and experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• 21 years of age or older
• Two years of  management experience
• Understanding of state childcare regulations and requirements
• Leadership and management skills
• Problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

Note: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related
field is required for this role. Training in required fields will be provided (first-aid,
CPR, and other state-required training).

Applicant must meet DHS licensing requirements.
